About ETHAN BLU

Ethan Blu is now one of the most collectible new artists in the US! He is a self taught artist and began painting as a child with a recurring dream of being a full time successful artist. Originally from a small farm town south of Chicago called Peotone, Ethan moved to San Diego in his early twenties to escape the frigid winters. 

He began his creative career as a landscape designer and then hairstylist. While recovering from a knee surgery in 2016 he couldn’t walk and decided to paint everyday until he recovered. Right away, his first art collectors emerged and started collecting these seminal abstract animal artworks. Mostly hummingbirds! 

After several years as the art director of a contemporary art gallery in Solana Beach, his painting evolved into large, concentric, soothing artworks that put the viewer in a calm tranquil place. His “Mindfulness Circle” series quickly became the best selling series of 2022 and gave Ethan the confidence to open Gallery Blu in the Cedros Design District of Solana Beach, CA.

Inspired by Mark Rothko and Gerhard Richter, Ethan speaks through color, conveying messages of mindfulness, balance, flow, and desire. Gallery Blu is a mecca for mindfulness art lovers from all over. In an age where distraction is king, remaining present is essential for wellness and the ability to thrive.
